How many tangs can I keep

So am I a liar ?? I will post a vid of feeding time later so you can see all of them when I get out of work that's all I have on my phone for now. You can keep tangs togther.

I will post a vid of them all out at feeding time when I get out of work . You can keep more than one tang . The purple and yellow are aggressive but it is possible. Cats and dogs can be in the same house .... Why can't more than one tang ....

I see your point and your not lying it was awesome but I think I'll due a mimic or a scopas or a purple prob not the purple but I like them so much so so mimic or scopas probally

My scopas has one of the better personalitys in the tank . Hes not as colorful as others but a awesome fish . The vlimingi has got to where I can pet it very interested in every thing outside the tank lol. But I would get a scopas have had great luck with them !!

nope not a liar... just someone that has no idea on the proper way to keep fish long term. .. they fit today... as your baby fish grow so will your issues. oh and really smart to get that really fast growing monti cap in there . eats up what little room they have that much faster ! "Dogs and cats can live together" ? really .throw a german shepard and a kitty in your coat closet and see how long that works out for ya ? what I say isn't going to change your mind , i just hope someone new in the hobby reading this thread has more common sence than you.

Well your prob right . Think I should take them all out tonight before they kill eachother ?? And what should I do flush them I wouldn't want anyone to get a aggressive fish ? I just don't know what to do I need some professional advice ?

I agree that purples and yellows can be aggressive. I had to get rid of a yellow when I put in my copperband due to aggression. My purple is a mean @#$#@ and would often lie in wait for someone to go past his hiding spot to attack. A scopas can be really mean too. Of all the tangs I've kept the mimic is the most mellow. I have a lemonpeel mimic and really like him for color and personality. He'd be a good choice for you if you like yellow. Mine is an adult and still has a lot of yellow in the front.

The OP is looking for good advise on fish stocking. Please keep your comments to yourself as they are not helping in any way.

WW3 is gonna happen in a 4ft 125 gallon tank stocked with 8 larger tangs. There is no way around that. You can't keep more than one tang in a tank unless it is a 6ft 125 gallon tank, length being the more important of the two. With a 6ft 125, you can only keep a max of 2 tangs and they HAVE to be from a different genus. With a 180 you can do three tangs of different genus', a 240 4. To keep 8 tangs you need over a 10 foot tank and quite a bit of room front to back.

IMO to the OP, a mimic would be perfect. To me they are more colorful than a scopas, not sure why, but I don't like scopas tangs very much and I am not a fan of yellow tangs either. A lemonpeel mimic would look stunning in your tank as the showpiece of your tank.

I have three tangs living in a 150 cube. They have lived together for seven years without a single issue. Just curious if this could cause issues down the road or if the tank is big enough? I have a 120 without any tangs in it that I could relocate one of them to. Like I said I have had them for seven years and would hate to loose one of them(blue tang, purple tang, and chocolate tang). Thanks for any advice.
