How many?

I'm in the planning stages of building a tank and figuring out the components I need. I really like the VorTech in reading reviews etc. I'm trying to decided between a 90 gal 48x18x24 and a 110 48x18x30. With the 90 gal could I get away with 1 VorTech to start? The tank will be a mix of LPS, SPS and softies. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I have 2 MP40W in a 95 gal corner. I had to place rubble in strategic locations to prevent sandstorms which is a non issue in BB. You wouldn't need 2 probably but another one on the opposite of the tank would provide alternating flow. I love em and so does my SPS. that's my $.02.

I heard Ecotech is coming out with a lower flow Vortech but don't know any details.

Sorry, it appears I looked over this thread by accident. For a 90gallon tank if your focus was not 100% SPS then you could get away with one MP40w mounted on the side of the aquarium. Anything larger and you would be better off with two pumps, especially if the tank is more than 4' long.
