How much carbon should I use?

I've got the 72 bowfront with 20gal sump on rotation full time now. I've noticed stuff floating through my water all the time and it occurred to me that I'm mildly retarded. I have no filtration or carbon yet. I got so excited about everything else I never got that far. Initially I'm wanting to just do a bag of carbon for now until I recover from taxes. Then later on down the road I'll get a reactor. I figure that and a filter sock on my drain pipes would be sufficient for now. If I'm wrong please let me know.

if you use a bag go with like 2 or 3 cups a reactor would only require 1 maybe

Lol. Well gla I could bring a smile to your face. I splurged and just bought the whole reactor. Looks like it will pay for itself over the bag in a couple months any how. I ordered another maxijet 1200 for it as well. Now it looks to me like I just mount the reactor next to my sump and toss the pump in next to my skimmer. Any truth to this? I also went ahead and got the RO/DI flush kit as well.
