Love every minute of it too.

Since we are, probably, all being serviced by FPL, our rates should all be the same.

With taxes and all that other stuff, my bill for March came to $208.06 for 1627 kWh or a little less than 12.8 cents per kWh.

Rates are lower for the first 1000 kWh.

FPL charges about $0.10 per kWh by the time you add in the $0.05 / kWh fuel surcharge. Are rates are actually pretty cheap because most of our power is nuclear (only coal is cheaper).

There are many many things you can do to minimize your tanks' electrical costs if you decide to.

For the record, a great deal of the electricity used in SoFla at peak times of the season comes from north Florida, and even Georgia. If you think Turkey Point Nuclear, Turkey Point Fossil, Port Everglades, and Ft. Lauderdale supply all of our needs, you're sorely mistaken. ;)

I am 18 (live with my parents), the electric bill is anywhere from 500$-650$/month. It's pretty ridiculous, but I don't think my fish tank is doing all the harm, we have two 24/7 running computers, and about 6 tv's (most of the time all of them are on) and two central ac's (one for upstairs and one for downstairs, this is what I think really kills us)....
