How much do you think its worth?

because the fish is not pricey to begin with... i can't see how even a true pair would cost all that much...

now if you are talking about a true pair of angelfish, then that's a lot of dollars...

I see singles go for $9.99-14.99 and more often on sale for $9.99 (swf dot com). If one buys 3 to get a pair (worst need to get 5) so figure the math. Yes, there's no guarantee on a pair forming but that's like any other species. I usually prefer forming a pair on my own but some folks like to buy a pair from the start. There's no set price just what you're willing to pay.

It would be uncommon only because most people dont want two in the same tank... but not uncommon because it's hard to do.

For pairs of fish, if they are a true pair and not just a small and a large one, I'm normally willing to pay about 3x what I would pay for a single fish. So in that case, if for some reason I wanted a pair of yellow watchman gobies, I'd be willing to pay $30-$40.

Exactly. Most people would not want a pair and would certainly not be willing to pay a premium for a pair. Now a pair of candy basslets goes for about 190% of a single fish ($895) so about $1700 but these are "made" pairs rather than collected pairs. It is a case of desirability. As mentioned a true pair of angels would be desirable but of gobies, "not so awfully very".

Just like how my cat is worth $5,000,000,000,000. They are worth whatever you think they are worth. I could pair watchman in my sleep.
