How much flow for clam?

I have a good amount of flow in a 40g breeder, borderline way too much for LPS to handle.

Will a clam be ok? My lighting is strong, a 250watt HQI maybe 5-8 inches away from where the clam would go =)

place him somewhere that he won't be flapping in the current and he should be fine. clams are filter feeders and don't mind lots of flow as long as it isn't directly on them.
