I have a 90g with 6 54w T5's. I have them near the bottom of the tank. I am not sure if this is where I sould have them. I was told they would color up, but I am beginning to think I was duped. Any Ideas as to tank placement for them? I want them to be much more blue.

I also have these: THe problem is, the zoo on the bottom is being washed out and losing color. Any ideas as to placement?

My Alien eyes are very fragile. I've gone from 7 to 2 in a couple of months. They are one of the few zoas that I have had any problems with. I keep mine in the middle of my tank and they seem to be somewhat healthy. I have them 15 inches away from a 175 watt MH.

Thanks. I guess mine are in a good place then. They have started to multiply. So, I will leave them alone for a while.

Many people including myself have trouble with "Alien Eye" Carribean zoos they are just are hard to keep. I had a colony with over 100 polyps and now I have only 20 and is finally doing well without dying or growing mcuh.

while i don't have the alien eye strain, my aqua splatter zoos are very similar and from the caribbean as well, they need very intense light or they seem to "green out"

Re: How much light for alien eyes?

I have some under 400watt radiums in my display and some under halide/pc in my prop tank and IMO the ones in the prop tank look more blue, they are about 24" from the light and I have had definate growth

I just moved them up tonight. I will see if there is any difference in the next couple of days. If I need to, I will move them up more. I don't want to be too fast in the transition. Thanks for the advice.
