how much light to give RBTAs?

I've got a few very small nems that are finally making their way to the tops of my rock which I gather means they want more light. I have my full spectrum LEDS dimmed quite a bit so I can increase it now. But when do I know they have enough light? Is it when the tips are bubbles? It's interesting because they are now with a couple inches from each other.

I hope someone answers this thread. I'm considering a nem in the future. I also have a decent LED and I am curious about LEd output

BTA will move around based on light and flow. When either of those change your BTA will also change their location. Be alert and ready to move corals clams or whatever until they settle in the location they want. The bubble on there tips can come and go. I don't know if there is a reason for it. I had two and one lost bubbles and the other kept them. One wanted bright lights and the other stayed in the shadows. "Go figure"

I have two rbtas in my 28 nano jbj. They are under a radion gen 3 pro that's only running at 35% max. They have been under the radion for about 2 years.

+1
It depends at what depth they were collected and there is not any sure way to know unless you or someone you know dove to get it.
I had one live comfortably under 4x 48" t5 years ago at about 12" from the surface. And I had one under LED crawl under a rock and shrivel up ...

Good luck

I am switching from 2x 175W MHs to 2x AI Hydra 52s HD+ led fixtures in my bta (50+) dominated 50g tank. I don't want to hurt them with too much light. Was planning on starting at 30% and see how they like that.

I have mine (1rbta, 1gbta) under a gen 3 radion xr30pro.

They are very bright and vivid in color after switching from the previous lights to the radions...

My tank size is 30 x 13 x18 deep I have a 24 inch edge fixture on it . Would the output of this fixture be sufficient for a RTBA? Thanks
