For a fungia? How about an open brain? Trying to stock my new 5.5g that has 40 watts of PC over it. Do they need to be fed anything?

Hey, might want a little more light if you want a brain. I think fungias might be a little more tolerant but if you could get like 96+ watts PC that might be better for the fungia.
Fungias and brains can eat. Fungias can actually eat food like chopped shrimp, mysis, cyclopeez, etc. You would have to target feed it because I am not sure they can grab food in the water column like say dendros.
Brains can eat mysis and cyclopeez. Again you can target feed it because I am not sure they can actually catch the food.

what i noticed is brains are not very good at catching the food i feed them, even target feed, if the pumps are on. food simply swift by their feeding tentacles. what i do is stop all circulation when targetfeed, gently blowing the food onto their tentacles. the food stay there and they eat like animals.... when they almost finish, usu a few mins, i turn the circulation back on

btw, it's okay for lower light intensity if u're feeding them enough and regularly. however, u might want to consider the colour enhancing factor: for a little more light, a little better its coloration!
