How much magnesium does your tank consume?

I never test or dose mag, only alk ph and ca. I have a full test of everything and I mean everything 2 times a year or if I think my test may be off. My mag is alway at 1300-1350 when it is tested. I rely on water changes to take care of everything but ca and alk. For this dose kalk in my ATO. I use Reef Crystals. I can tell if my mag is to low if I have problems with ca and alk.

use about 100ml mag , 700ml cal, 600ml alk in 400 Gallon SPS

Some of the numbers dosed is crazy. Guess I better be prepared for this when I go big Since I've seen others are mentioning other dosing I'll reference mine too.

Calcium - 150 mL/Day (Recipe 1)
Alk - 125 mL/Day (Recipe 1)
Mag - 13 mL/Day
Top off of 6.8 L/Daily of Lime water.
WC of 5L/Daily done through LMIII.

Params stay stable as listed in my sig

75 Gallon Mixed Reef with a few SPS and about 25-30 ~4 month old frags growing well!

sry for reviving a old thread but i was wondering what uses mag? i know it's used to keep high levels of alk and cal but it's not consumed by anything is it? the initial post said corals consume it a little is this true?

Coralline algae uses mag. I believe that s responsible for the pink/purple color of it.
