How much salt is needed

How much salt is needed to increase from 1.023 to 1.024 on 100g water volume system?? Want to get this up tonight by adding a high concentration salt to like 1g of water and adding to tank.. Anyway to calculate this?? Using red sea pro salt mix

You're going from 30.5ppt to 31.9ppt. (I used this shandy thingy I found with google http://www.saltyzoo.com/SaltyCalcs/SgPptConv.php)

That's an increase of 1.4ppt or 1.4 grams per liter.

So you have 100 gallons, that's 380 liters. 3800 liters times 1.4 grams per liter is 532 grams.

I doubt you'd be able to get it all into 1 gallon. Maybe 3.

thats something like 2 cups or so.. sounds like a lot to add.. maybe i will just add some salt water to my top off and let it rise for a day or two and then replace the salt top off with fresh water

dont want to make a mistake and over shoot

Can't think of it being a mistake to go over 1.024. I've always run my tanks at 1.026 so nothing is going to go wrong unless you try to do it too fast.
