How much temp fluctuation is okay in a QT tank?

I'm bringing home a 2" Hippo next week and am a bit concerned becasue of there extreme potential for ICK. Is 1-1.5 degree fluctuation between day and night acceptable or should I get a better heater?

fine, in my qt i had a temp swing of 2 degrees and not a problem

That does not seem extreme to me at all.
