How much water circulation?

How much water circulation do you have in your reef tank?
I have a 14g biocube that is about 5 weeks old. last couple of weeks I have had a problem with cyano algae on the sand so I added a maxijet 900 which brought my circulation fom about 10X to 20X . Seems a little extreme to me !
what size tank do you have and what is your circulation?

I have 34x in my 180 gallon, probably could use a little more but its ok for now

You can further increase circulation as long as it is random enough.

It all depends on what you want to keep in your tank. If I were you I would probably bump it to around 30-40x an hour. It would be cheap to get alot of flow in there. Maybe one of the small "stream" style pumps that are out now. To answer your ? on flow. 230g display with about 90-100x turn over. If I put some effort into it I would be able to cut it down but I am lazy.

I have a 37 gal with about 1600gph, that puts me just over 43. Yours is not too extreme, ( or mines overkill ), but you do seem to have quite a few fish in a small tank. What is your filtration and water change regimine.

I have a 75 with 2 maximods that are supposed to be 2400 gph each. So in theory, I have 64X. Wait plus a mag 7 return, so a little more than that. All I know is that I might still want some more!
