How much weight ?

I'm planning to have a 600 gallon tank on the 7th floor of the building. I was just wondering how much weight could the whole tank weight?

PS : 600 gallon is the total system volume

Plan for at least 10lb per gallon...

3-4 tons easy.

600x8.5 per gallon=5100lbs add 1k for the tank
add all the extras will probably be in the 7k range

OMGGG!!! that heavy?!!?

I was expecting somewhere between 2k - 3.5k.

So, would it be safe to go for 600 gallon project? or should I cut it down to lets say 400G in total?

It will be placed exactly on the beam (50cm) on the 7th floor(top) of the bulding.

you need to know the integrity of the structure before planning a large tank on the 7th floor.

You need to find out if the floor system can support that much weight.

Is there a building management company you can contact...or maybe even the owner? They might not have the answer, but can probably find out for you.
