I recently upgrade skimmer on my 210 from my old euro reef rated for 180g. I use to clean cup every 2 weeks. Since my upgrade I find myself emptying cup and cleaning twice a week at ¾ full. I don't have issues with parameters (Before and after upgrade). Just wondering if tank being over skimmed or just skimmer is removing what the old one wasn't.

Thanks,
Z

Good poll. Nice to see where I stand. I guess I am lazy.

Oh hey, while we are on the subject. Do you guys run your skimmer 24/7?

I placed mine on a timer to run at night for about 8 hours or so. I do it this way because of the noise. My tank is in the living room and I don't really care for the noise of water running/splashing.

On 24/7 and no it currently does not fill up, maybe fills up to 1/2"-3/4" per day on a vertex INS-100 with Sicce PSK-1000 pump, I have mine set to ultra dark skimmate by adjusting the inlet diameter of the venturi to reduce bubble size and turbulance.

mine drains into a container with a float switch (for run-away safety) so I am guessing if I left the cup without a drain hose, about 1/week. I have mine set a little on the dry side like Pedro. Run mine 24/7 and is very quiet. My Vortech MP40 is the noisiest thing on the tank, but I do like it :)

Mine drains into a 2 litter coke bottle...I just clean cup today, first time in a month.....

Pedro same here. I set it to dark and have a Sicce PSK-1200. I hear the air silencer more than I hear pump. I find it odd that for 3 weeks I have been cleaning and emptying my skimmer cup 3/4 full every 3 days. I didn't think I had a tank that dirty :-). At least I have not seen any parameters showing that.
