How often do you feed your fish?

does any of the larger fish eat roe? or larger sized roe?

I have a picky moorish idol that seem to only pick on large chunks of food.

My Bandit eats Dr Gs caviar max (Roe), she is 4"

I feed my fish once a day. I feed them a lot of food because I have a reef tank with two toby puffers and I don't want them eating the corals. What is the coral right above the tomini tang that looks shelf like?

thanks! I think I'll pick up a bottle next time I shop for fish food. I'm sure my other fish will like it. specially the baby lightning maroon. my MI only eats chunky food, weirdo..

I'm feeding live foods five plus times a day as my tank is super clean. I'm trying to get my nitrates and phosphates up a bit so the corals have some fuel to use.
I also switched to dry skimming and turn the skimmer off at night.
Hey since you added T5's to your set up, have you moved the red dragon down?

Haven't moved the red dragon down. It's doing great. Think I'll keep it where it is.

Main tank get twice a day, once pellets or flake, then frozen later. I will also have nori in the tank for them. My Emperors in my Acclimation box get feed 3-4 times a day a variety of fresh, frozen, and pellets.

I work 12-16hr days across town, so I feed my 90g once in the evening, mostly pellets. I do clip in some seaweed for the tangs in the morning a couple times a week and toss in a few small algae disks on the days I don't. Weekends I try to break it up if I'm home.

I have a 75g in my garage with two damsels that I'm growing algae in. I think I feed it maybe twice a week and somehow they are still alive (6months).

My local fish guy keeps telling me to feed way less that I was. Now I feed about half a frozen cube and 1/3 of oyster eggs (I believe) once a day. Been doing this for about 8 months. With no visible issues.

Wow, guess I underfeed (now).

I was having such algae issues until I went away. I was constantly scrubbing off the sand and glass. I improved flow, cut lights, etc but nothing worked. I was scared of my caretaker taking over the responsibility for 16 days.
I set aside small portions to feed every other day while we were gone.
Figured they wouldn't starve and this way they wouldn't overfeed.

Come back after two weeks expecting the tank to be filled with algae.
The tank looked better than ever.
Corals nice and huge, very little algae, and all fish happy.

Been sticking with that regiment for this tank ever since.
Couple pellets or a 1/4 thawed frozen cube every other day.

I guess it really depends on your corals, cc, and maintenance.

Auto fish feeders. Eihem is a great one I used for many years. Now I just switched to an Apex AFS and feed 4 times a day with it.

Then when I get home I put in an algae sheet and drop in some meaty foods. Then later in the evening add in some more meaty foods. May get 2-3 of those feedings in.

2 to 3 times a day with frozen Pe Mysis mixed with Hikari Spirulina/Brine with several drops of Vitachem. I also wrap dried seaweed on a veggie clip a couple times a day. I don't worry about over feeding, I skim heavy and have a cubic foot of cheato in my sump that I trim every two weeks. Corals have nice colors and there's not a spec of hair algae in the tank (knocks on wood).

That really seems like a lot of food!

I'm no expert by any means, but my fish have done well with a once a day feeding, with frozen. I have two clowns, blue devil damsel, Dalmatian Molly, tang, blue hippo tang, lawnmower Benny, yellow watchmen goby and a six line wrass. Half of a cube of frozen seems to do the trick
