How old are your clowns?

I really wonder how long they can live in a system that is stable for decades. Usually, when I hear about long lived clowns dieing it is because of a keepers mistake or an introduced disease (a mistake too, I guess). My pair looks and acts the same as they did over a decade ago. They still spawn regularly. You would not recognize that they were over 16 years old just by looking at them.

I did wonder if they start to look 'old'. I'm glad this means my little guys hopefully have a lot more years in them!

Ive had my Onyx pair going on 6 years now. I had a previous pair of Saddlebacks for 8 years before selling them. My one buddy just lost his 20 year old Percula a couple of months ago.

1 of the first pairs of fish I purchased was in 2001 & it's an Ocellaris. I have been breeding them for the last 7 years & still going strong.

I've had mine about 6 months, both were very small juvies when i got them so i guess that puts them in the 1 year old range. Can't wait to see how long they live, i hope i have them for many many years. So far they've survived a tank crack and a tub on the floor, made of tough stuff these clownfish :)

mine was 9 years old, she died due to stupidity from a drunk family member :( .....never leave drunk people alone with your fish

I always wonder how old those huge percs and occy are, you know those 4 to 5 inch monsters you only see once in a while.

Pics would great

I had a Maroon clown that was probably 12 years old when I gave him away. Don't know what happened after that, but I got him as juvenile.

i got my GSM at a size of 2"...(s)he is in her 4th year in my tanks...now nearly 3&1/2" and survived two itch and one velvet(which took out 70% of the tank mates) outbreak in my bigger tank...now she lives with a small male and a pyjama cardinal in her own reef tank...
