How rare is this?

Thanks for the pics and please don't forget about this thread so you can keep updating it. Are these places locals only or do tourists get to go out there also?

I envy your ability to go out and explore the reefs! That would be so amazing.

Please post more pics after your next 'expedition'!

No problems with that fellas. End of this month are the next set of low tides. After that we might do a night time trip.

Can't wait for that! Ever worried about running into another blue ringed? Only this time at night?

As long as you keep an eye out and wear appropriate footwear you are fine. Other dangers are box jellyfish and stepping on stonefish.

this thread is crazy, how incredible to have the ability to go and roam through theses areas. IF i were you i would get some sort of under water camera to get some more natural pics. Keep the pics coming!

Now for something a bit different.

After the some of the monsoon rains which go on for a week. The rivers get full and these small prawns (shrimps to you guys) get flushed out to the sea.

On the high tide there are literally thousands of them and we go out with some nets and a bucket to catch some.

Wow!! That is a high density. The wild fish must go into a feeding frenzy.
That is awesome that you can collect them. I have to purchase them frozen from the LFS...

This thread is Awesome. I wouldn't even need tank if I could walk the pools. Well on 2nd thought I might need a 2,000 gallon.
