How short is too short?

I am trying to figure out if 24" is too short. I am going 12'x4' and I am stumped on the height. I know people go with 30" alot but I am short and cant even reach the bottom at 30". It will be a FOWLR and some hardy mushrooms and such. Everything in my 210 will be transfered over. Thanks for all the suggestions and input. -D-

I have (in storage) a 7'x3'x2' tank that was installed in-wall. I always thought it looked too short for it's length. Kinda squatty. My new tank is being constructed 30" tall. I'm afraid that at 12' long, a 2' tall tank would look a little too much like a pencil for my taste.

I forgot to put in there that it will be "L" shaped. Do you think 28" would look weird?

Nope. I think some additional height would help. I just remember how "squashed" mine looked to me.

I was going to go 24 and went 30" looking back it was the right thing. I just use tongs.

Thanks for all of your help. I will be going 30". I never thought about using tongs.
