How Should I Set Up My MH??

I am purchasing a Blue Wave 7 250watt HQI Dual MH ballast from a member on the boards. I need to know what I should get to plug into the ballast. I was thinking of retrofiting it, but I can't find a socket for HQI bulbs anywhere. Is there any sort of cheap pendant? Does anyone have anything like that for sale?

You can also run single ended mogul based lamps on that ballast. I actually prefer to run single ended lamps in most situstions. That being said, It shouldnt be that hard to find Double ended sockets. Im almost positive that I have seen them on a shelve somewhere.

My SLS Bluewave VII is set up to run the SE bulbs. Much cheaper than buying the HQI pendants. But I am only going to run the SE until I can afford some lumenarc HQI's.

Can't you just put a HQI socket on a reflector with some UV glass over it?

I prefer to run single ended lamps with an HQI ballast. The HQI ballast will slightly overdrive a single ended lamp which will slightly shorten the lifespan, but it also produces more PAR.

single ended lamps do not need a glass sheild but DE lamps so.

you could, but sometimes easier said than done (depending on what you have to work with). It would need to be completely shielded (ends too) and removable so it could be cleaned and so you can access the lamp
