How should I start this adventure?

I'm ready to buy my first Zoanthid but I'm wondering if I should just buy a cheap frag to start with and see how that does before I invest too much in this to find out I don't have enough flow/light, the right temp/parameters, etc.

I've had this up and running for 3 months now and just started adding a few fish.

Any recommendations on this.. what to purchase, how many polyps for testing? any comments will probably help

Thanks keithntracy, I'm hoping someone here locally has the same generosity.

I figured like apex003 said I'd try my local club, but wanted to ask here about what I might do first.

I'm not going to lie to you. I don't think you're going to have a problem at all keeping zoa's. There's really no way you could screw up badly enough. There's been people who've had their tank completely crash and the zoa's won't die. So I don't think you'll really need to test. But if so, just purchase a small frag from someone. Maybe soemthing without any color like a brown button polyp. Or gold ones. either way i think you'll be just fine.
Happy reefing.

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement.

I'll go thow a post in my local forum and hope for something cheap. :)

Yellow Polyp is another easy one to start with.

I bought some zoas for like $40 for the first time for my fishonly -- keeping them alive wasnt a problem. 1/2 died during shipping but I had some nice orange ones for a while in my intank refugium but I thought whats the point cuz I want it in my tank on the rocks -- overnight mustve been either an orange claw or marshal island electric crab but something ate all my zoas! Im about to try again but this time Im making a pvc platform and attaching it to the glass wall up high w/ suction cups

so if anyone has some cheap frags let me know too

I was able to find a local guy, oddly enough he lives less than a mile from me who helped me out. So now I'll let them sit a month or so and as long as nothing is eaten, I'll start looking to buy others. many many others.... must have them all

thanks
