How slow growers are Triggerfish?

I guess my question was how slow growers are bluethroat, and pinktail triggerfish?

If I got a small one, maybe 1.5" how long would it be before it outgrew a 40 BR(36"x18"x16") Which is actually like 47 Gallons.

I know the cautions of trying to catch fish after you got them, but I think I could do it.

They are not super skittish fish so they shouldn't be too difficult with a fish trap.

Lemme know what you think.

I don't think any sized bluethroat is good for a tank that size to be honest. I had a 3" trigger male bluethroat in my 180 Gallon. He used every last inch of that tank. They are a very active fish.

That being said, I received mine about about 1.5-2". A year later he was at least an inch longer, possibly more.

They can grow pretty quickly, if they're healthy; like an inch or two a year.

Blue throats can be very skittish. They aren't always, but I've seen some that were worse than most firefish.
