Do I cut (dremel) or break apart?

I've read somewhere that you make them shrink in as much as possible and cut around em' with a dremel disk

might be wrong but someone else will chime in here

I use a dremel to score the outline as deep as I can where I want to frag. Then I just grab a flathead screw driver or a chisel to wedge the pieces apart.

Ditto.. smack 'em to make them contract (or pull them out of the water, then just try to follow the outline. The actual skeleton is not as thick as the rock they're usually mounted to.
