How the hell do I measure Ortophosphates?

Any hobbyist test kit will measure orthophosphate. It's the organophosphates and polyphosphates that require special procedures if you want to measure them.

Your kit is only gonna measure PO4 thats not bound in your rocks/sand. I measure mine by the lack of nuisance algae. If you have cyan or green hair algae, then you have too much phosphates, better to spend money getting rid of them than on a test kit.
