I don't want these guys any more. They gang up on some of my other fish. So..... I want to catch them and feed them my friend Doug's trigger fish.

The problem is that I can't catch them. I have a fish trap that they won't go in. I built a large cage to try to get them to swim into. Nope. They are too smart. In fact I think that Doug told them my plans last time he was over. Everyone in Chicago knows Doug talks to fishes.

Any ideas how to get them. I have not feed them in two weeks trying to get them in a trap.

Little bastards.

Thanks

Paul, You could show them Doug's photo and net them when they try to eat the photo..... :D

You might want to try putting a mirror against an open side or corner of the tank, that sometimes works.

Or wait until they go down for the night and scoop them out.

Last choice is to get a fishing line with a tiny barbless hook and use a hunk of shrimp to catch them.

Unfortunately, Bubba don't make house calls!

Paul,

I have a trapeze fish trap and it has worked well for everything except my royal gramma - he won't swim into it. It has been suggested to put a mirror at th far end of the trap to induce him.

I've been successful with the trap by baiting it after not feeding for a couple of days; leaving the trap in the tank for a while so the fish get used to it; and adding a length of yarn to the trap-door pull string so I can operateit while I'm about 12 feet away from the tank so not to spook the fish.

I will give the mirrow a try. I have a fish trap that has not worked. They won't go into it.

I am going to enjoy watching bubba eat these guys.

Feeding fish that you own to others is like sacrificing people or cannibalism. The only time I feed fish to other fish is when they are already dead or are NEEDED for the other's survival

I catch my fish by putting some food on the top of the water and then when the fish come for the food and use a net which I am holding right above and the water and scoop em up. :D

They are actually going into a tank with another Pajama Cardinal. They will have a little school of 4. I am just angry enough to feed them to a trigger. They are smart and sneaky little fish. I have never had so much trouble catching a fish. Once they see the net above the water they hide. If I am around occasionally they come out or they stay near coral that protects them. Several of my other fish eat out of my hands. These guys don't.

I think I am going to try cyanide next.

Got them. Got them all. I proved that nature wins in the end. Human have evolved far more than these pesky little creatures. Our brains are bigger and I have the power to drain the whole tank down to one inch and get them in the low spot in the corner. Off the the little Pajama Cardinal School at Doug's. Now if they act up they get bubba.
