I have seen that my tang has ich and i want to get him out to qorantine hime but cant catch him how do i do this?

Is he eating... if so, you could try to trap him. The best luck I've had is with a homemade Hi-C gallon jug trap.

I once had the same problem & I tried every kind of trap. It didnt work..It refused to go in. I tried for week. I finally took a sheet of plexi-glass put in the corner and then put some nori on a veggie clip. I left a slight place between the plexi-glass and the wall. with a couple minutes he swam in. I closed it and netted him. I couldnt believe how easy it was. I dont know if it was luck but, it worked for me.

Removing the rock would cause more stress to the tang and everyone else. Kar93 is right..removing rock should be last resort.

If your fish has ich, you'll want to remove all the fish and QT them for about 6 weeks while you leave your display fishless to starve and kill the ich.

just going through ick myself. you have to remove every fish in there or you will still have ich. you may not see it on any fish, but it's there, and you will. i'm using hypo on all of mine right now for the next four weeks, then i slowly bring the salinity up over another 3-4 weeks, then back in they go!

i would think that it would be your best bet to qt all the fish in hypo for 4 to 6 weeks then put them back in the display tank.

Before you decide to do this take a look at all the forums debating the different viewpoints on addressing an ich problem.

In my experience, i've never had to do this. my tank has "had" ich in the tank for years and i rarely, if ever, get ich breakouts anymore.

Yes, I quarantine new fish and treat with copper before adding to a display, but if/when adding new fish, stress can sometimes cause a breakout at that point. I just treat with fresh, crushed garlic, 2 cloves for my 170 gal system, daily, for a week, and then every other day for a week. Works wonders.

if your fish isn't eating/swimming, it may be too late, though.

IMO, trying to rid a tank of ich is futile. IMO, better to treat it as it happens.
