How to catch fish??any tricks?

When I noticed that my gramma had skin flukes, I managed to catch him in a 75 gallon tank. Buy several large and medium sized nets, block off all escape routes, and chase them with a algae cleaning stick or turkey baster into a net that you can quickly trap them in. It can take a while but eventually they'll be caught.

but what do you use to lure the fish in the box if you arent dealing with a tang that likes algae sheet. mysids wont stay in there.???
The fish trap I have has a bait compartment; I normally use mysis or a piece of shrimp. I close the door for unwanted occupants; usually every fish and shrimp wants in. I think I got mine from aquacave. Mine does not have suction cups but they could be added with no problem.

If you have easy access to all the holes, I usually plug them up with paper towels (usally 1 or 2 rolls...lol) This way the fish get trapped on the outside. Then I turn off the lights for awhile, turn them back on a sneek attack!
Only really works for the larger fish, like your tang.

Night time sneak attack with a red lens on a flashlight. I use ninja stealth, and if that doesnt work turn on all the lights and go for the flash bang effect. usually they are so traumatized I can easily catch them, some even jump out and surrender.
Or just chase em to exasution and then net em ..
Ive heard mini spear guns can be made, but im afriad to hurt a coral.

Alright, cheap and quick: got it from some one on RC worked like a charm.
Take a large clear freezer type plastic bag. Fold over the top so that it stays open. Purse string some fishing line around the circumfrance of the opening. Works better if you actually go into and out of the bag with the line. Wedge it somewhere in the rocks or open space where it'll stay open. Put some nori or whatever the fish likes to eat in there. Sit and wait. Everyfish in the tank may go in there just like melev's video, which is hilarious BTW. (he's got too much time on his hands....)
When fish swims in, yank the string. Whammo, fish in a bag. It took all of 15 minute for me to catch an angel that had eluded all other traps for weeks. I caught a sailfin tang that was a suspect in a coral nipping incident in under 5 minutes.

What does this accomplish? Not bein smart, I am truly curious. Does it make the trap appear larger and less confined so they feel less apprehensive about entering?
Ive tried a couple times to catch a damsel using some tricks Ive read on here but I was always short on time so I short cutted them and was unsuccessful. The clear plastic bag trick is one I hadn’t heard. I’ll have to give it a try. Thanks.
