How to clean water jugs?

I have noticed some algae and stuff growing on the bottom of my water (gas) jugs. Whats the best way to clean them out?
1tbl spn of bleach?

I would use the vinegar also and left them soak for an hour

vinegar thats right. Is there a certain ratio 1:10 (1 part viniger to 10 parts water)?

Straight white vinegar is great for calcium deposits but nothing beats bleach or peroxide for killing algae. A few spoonfulls per gallon should do it.
