How to control coral nipping?

Hello all,

Any methods to lower coral nipping ?
My idol, after 5 months of behaving well, has started eating my lps !!

Some adviced me to add more smaller fish to not let him get bored ? Bunch of anthias and chromis ?

I feed it 4 times a day! Should I add an auto feeder to feed him more often ?

Lastly, maybe he needs to nip on some coral to " sharpen his tooth" ? If so what hard food should I offer him to meet this need of him to hope he will bite on new food more? He is eating nls pellets, Pe mysis, nori.

Any experience is appreciated.

hmm, thank you Steve .... I got him knowing he will be eating corals, but not my fav. ones lol

I grow alot of SPS, no Issues there, but the LPS .. nt so much I will be moving some of my rarer LPS out of this tank.

gonna give each of the situations I mentioned a try as well, see if it improves ..

Yeah, they're well known coral chompers and you can't alter their genetic make-up and change that. Mine will eat absolutely anything. Tough fish to get eating, but the easiest fish to feed I've ever seen....once started.

LOL so true ! I cant believe I was begging it to eat at one point and now other way around lol he eats nori before my tangs now ! and as you said, literally anything I put in the tank .. my hand and corals included !

and it has a STRONG bite !! not as strong as emperor angel, which makes me bleed, but still lol

Yes, I feed my emperor angel by hand but have learned to be VERY careful.
