How to control mushrooms?

Years ago when I started my tank, I had a single green-stripe mushroom on a piece of LR that I added. It slowly split over the years, but was always manageable until it went on a recent surge and started taking over my tank.

Now, this hitch hiker coral is killing off SPS, overgrowing zoas, pushing through my rics, etc etc. I feel like my tank is under attack! From what I have seen, they are quite potent as they easily kill my SPS corals and even give the rics a run for their money. In light of this, I'm afraid just to go cutting a bunch off of rocks.

So what is the best way to either:
1) Safely kill them
2) Remove them from rock for propagation / sale

Many of them stretch 4-6" long from where they attach, so a quick snip with some frag scissors would do the trick, but I'm afraid the base will either regrow or too many toxins will be released. Plus selling them off is preferable to killing them.

Any input is appreciated, I'm not personally much of a softie guy so have dedicated most of my research/experience to SPS and clams.

Bandage scissors work best. $4

I just scraped lots of them off the rock using a dental pick bought at walmart. This thing kills whatever it touches.

I read somewhere that to cut as much off as possible then cover the spots with coral glue or epoxy so that whats left wont grow back.
