How to correctly enrich brine shrimp?

Seems like every time i try to enrich the brine shrimp with dans feed all the brine are dead except a few. I do as i have read online i pour them through a brine net then put them into new saltwater and add the enrichment, around 12 hours later when i pour them through the brine net again to put them into new saltwater they are all dead so i must be doing something wrong. And as of right now i have been feeding my dwarfs unenriched brine shrimp and I believe is effecting them as I have been having some of them die and all of my dwarf seahorse babies died off. So if someone could please list how to correctly enrich the brine I would appreciate it. Also is there any other kinds of enrichment anyone recommends?

Two things come to mind.
One, the aeration may not be sufficient to keep oxygen levels up.
More likely though you are using too much of the enrichment.
I blend it with water for two minutes and store it in a bottle in the refrigerator and just add enough to the container of bbs to cloud the water slightly. If it clears before the 12 hours, add a touch more.
I then replace the water and enrichment and proceed for another 12 hours.

I too had problems when I first got the Dan's Feed and after that I started just putting a half teaspoon of the enrichment in 2 cups of water and put it in the blender for two minutes. Then I take this blend and just add enough to the enrichment container so that the water clouds.
I think too much will clog the brine with particles getting lodged in their appendages.
Also, if you don't put it in a blender some of the particles will be too large and again may cause problems with uptake by the brine.
While they are called filter feeders, brine don't take water into their bodies to remove the food from it, but rather capture food particles of the appropriate size as they pass between/through the appendages that they use to pass the food to their mouths and digestive tract.

Aeration should be a hard boil with an open rigid airline. If they are dying off, it is most likely from a lack of aeration whether it be from not enough air or too much enrichment. If you continue to have issues with it, call the vendor, they should be helpful.

i have lots of areation i hatch tons of brine and they stay alive but as soon as i add enrichment is when they died but i was just adding like a pinchfull of the dans feed to the container without grinding or anything and the water woul be a dark green. I did what ray did and blendid with water and added enough just to make the water cloudy so we will see tomorrow if i did it right

What is the ratio of water > to enrichment > to how much artemia are you hatching?

Will you walk us through how you hatch the artemia, what size caontainer you put them in after they hatch and do you have a light source on them?

Kind Regards,

Tim

Well i guess i did it right as the brine were alive today and the water in the container cleared up from last night after adding the enrichment

When the water clears, you need to immediately add a bit more enrichment or the time spent in clear water is just a waste and they are using up what enrichment they already have in them.
In time you should probably get used to just how much to add so that it doesn't completely clear in the twelve hour period.
Remember too that by proceeding with a second 12 hour period of enrichment with new water and enrichment, you will have a much more nutritious food.
