HOW to get 600gal tank down into basement?

Well the local movers have balked at getting my 4'x7'x30" aquarium into the basement. It needs to go thru a couple storm doors then down 10 feet of some steep stairs to the basement level. We were considering removing the stairs and building a railing system w/ 2x10's and a winch but am a little uncertain about doing it. Any experiences in making something like this happen?
Thanks!

If the stairs are easily removable, id go with a straight controlled drop.... it may be a diagonal drop depending on your stairwell. Keep us updated.

I'll try and post pictures of this challenge. Basically we're trying to drop the aquarium on one end down into a 6' square x 10' deep pit in the ground. :P
We can slide the aquarium up to the pit edge but lifting it, moving it over, then down the pit is the challenge.
Have a guy w/ a 180' crane coming over to eyeball things but the wife refuses to let a crane run over the new drain field..
