how to get a scratch out of acrylic

Best to order a kit that contains the various 'fine' grits of sandpaper to do it... It is really not that hard to do...
last Sunday I sanded a 120g tank, and it looks like new

Very fine scratches may come out with liquid compounds

If you know anyone who does automotive body work they could help. Basically, you sand the scratched area with a "block" or something stiff with sandpaper wrapped around it. Start with a larger grit and work you way finer. Like 220 grit-400-800-1000-1500-2000. Then you use a buffing compound to buff out the fine scratches. You can either do this by hand or with a buffing machine.
Do not use your fingers or hand with the sandpaper while sanding. This will cause you to leave "finger" depressions in the acrylic.

You can get all these supplies at Napa, Pep Boys, Auto zone Etc.

If you are trying to get a scratch out of the inside of the tank while it is set up... this is much more difficult if not almost impossible for deep scratches.

I hope this helps.

Well, I guess that you could start out with those grits for really deep scratches, however, the kits usually go from about 1000 to 12000 grit.
Definitely use a 'block', and switch direction after each grit (up & down with 1000 grit, left & right with 1400, etc.) I also got much better results with wet sanding!(as opposed to dry)
