How to get clown fish to lay eggs

Well I know this is a dumb question but I'm a high school student to start out. I'm 16 years old and next year I'm taking science research and I want to involve my science project on breeding clown fish. Should I get wild caught true percs or tank raised or ocellaris clowns idk which is easier to breed/ get to lay eggs. My main question is how do you get them to start laying eggs when they are paired. Like I'm not some kid that knows nothing about reefing I have a tank of my own growing sps and such the whole rodeo. Also I am open for ideas of my question to test for this project so let me hear them.
Thank You
Chris

If you want immediate gratification, the best chance you have is pay big $$$ and buy a spawning pair. If you buy a typical 6-9 month old pair from a LFS, prepare to wait 2-3 years.

With some luck:twitch:It could also never spawn.
2nd option:Get/make 10 pairs.;)

Chris, I dont want to discourage you but it took my clowns almost 5 years to have sucessfull spawns. I am now trying to raise a small batch from last week and am hoping their next batch is a bit more sucessfull.
Good luck to you!

I got some pairs of Ocellaris to spawn after being paired in 6 months & I have some pairs of blacks at 5 years & never spawned.
