How to get clowns to nem?

I have a pair of picasso's that have been hosting a frogspawn on the mid right side of my tank. My rbta is on my bottom left of the tank. They have both been there for about a year now but they have never went over to the left bottom o the tank before, they would swim to the top left sometimes. Is there a way to get them to host my nem instead. They are getting close to laying eggs too, because I see them both cleaning this one area close the their home now and they do this vibrating motion around it too. i'm guessing that I got the picasso's and nem as babies but the nem was very small before. But now the nem is big and I want them to get a new home.
Any tips and thanks for taking the time to read.

It might be because you are trying to get the clowns to host the anemone rather than the anemone to host the clowns.

You may never get the clowns to adopt the anemone. They have found a suitable surrogate host and they will likely not leave it. You can try removing any surrogate hosts from the tank (i.e.: the frogspawn) and hope that the clowns will adopt the anemone instead but you may never have any luck. However, in 2, 3, 4 years from now, the clowns may decide they like the anemone and start using it. Biology is never straightforward. Either way, your clowns can still lay eggs by the frogspawn with success.

In summary,
1) Your clowns found a host they like and they will likely stick to it.
2) Anemones host clowns, clown don't host anemones.

Hey Mike,

Thanks for the info, I was thinking of moving the frogspwan closer to the nem to see if they might try out a new home. The only thing about that is I don't want to stress out anything in the tank. I'll proabaly just leave things how they are, just want to see if anyone might have a similar scenrio. Thanks again

Hold off on feeding for a day and then feed on the side with the anem. Hopefully you can cut flow so the clowns will have to travel to that side of the tank in order to eat.

I had a pair of ocellaris clowns that used a hammer as a surrogate host. They never moved to an anemone. When moving the fish to a temporary container (for tank upgrades, etc.) the fish would easily use one of the anemones temporarily but once the hammer was returned, they would quickly return to it. In fact, as they got older, they would occasionally pass through an anemone in the tank but would never stay in one.
