ok, I am getting the hang of taking decent pics of corals when the flow is off and such as they don't move. but I have tried taking about 50 pics of my fish and not one of them hasn't came out good or even decent.

and tricks you could share?

BTW I am using the fuji s602z

I bet your camera's focus and response time can't keep up with the speed of the fish. It's not an easy task to snag photos of small, moving objects. One thing you can do is try taking photos when you're feeding. See if you can get them to hang out for just a little longer in one spot so your camera can adjust.

Try using a higher ISO speed. The pictures might look a tad more grainy but your fish won't be blurred. Also a tripod can't hurt either.

I usually watch my fish for a while. They usually have a pretty regular swim pattern or hang out in the same area. Then I set up a tripod pick a spot and focus in on it then wait and wait and wait :) Making minor adjustments as I go. Usually takes quite a few shots before I get one that is usable. Not to mention my Sailfin is a camera hog and usually hangs out right in front of it

stay in one spot for a bit moving around so they get use to you being there... you have to become a good fish stalker :D I had a fowface that kept screwing up my pictures because it was a picture hog
