how to get grape calupera to grow faster

I had many people tell me when i got this algae that I would have to trim it twice a week , well I have had it a month and it may have gotten 3 inches longer , but thats it

what can I add to make this stuff shoot up , Im wantign to get alot of this.

Its under a 30 watt flourecent light in a 30 gallon tank and the list is on 24/7

Generally lots of KH/Ca and some NO3, if you have low/no NO3, it's likely holding it back.

Besides that, you need 2-4x that much light. Be glad it's growing at all.

Get some Power Compact Lights and you'll see it grow like crazy, I have a 5 Gallon nano reef with some in it and its growing wild with only 18 Watts of PC light.

whats the difference in 18 watts of pc and 30 watts of fourescent

vs

a 30 w/ light on a 30 gal?

One has 3+w/gal
The other has 1 watt /gal

would it grow if I put the algae in a gallon size container at a time and put it directly outside in the sunlight or in the window in the sunlight?


it would kinda lol , purify a gallon or two at a time?

If I was you I would get a 10 gallon tank and go to hellolight.com pr ebay and get a 20inch PC hood. you can put the ten gallon tank right under the 30 gallon.
