How to help bleached frag

Ok, so I've been doing decent with my recent pack of frags over the last 10 days - everything's looking good.

But.. I guess I moved my orange pavona frag up too quickly and the top of it got bleached...:worried:

So I'm pretty sure it was the light. I can't put up a pic until tomorrow, but the top of the frag is rounded and it looks like a sunburn would (just white..) The lower parts of the frag not in direct light still look fine.

Parameters have been pretty good:
Ca 450
Alk 7.8 (dosing to increase)
Mg 1300

I moved it much further down as soon as I realized - basically where I started it last week.

So my question for SPS guru's - is it better to keep it in the shade for a while to heal, or is just very low light better..? If shade, for how long..?

Thanks in advance!

Not an SPS guru here but when I have bleached pieces, I moved down to lower light and they eventually recovered. I wouldn't put it in the shade.

Thanks - that's what I've tried for now. I know it will be a slow recovery...but wondered if we are talking a couple weeks or longer...?

Yeah could be weeks to months. Make sure your dosing iodine occasionally and feed amino acids. Will help with recovery.
