How to id a true percula

Thanks for the link. What about the color of their eyes, I have read that a true perculas eyes are brighter orange than an ocellaris. Is this also another way to tell the difference between the two?

Typically percula clowns will have a clean orange around the eyes, where ocellaris it appears a little 'muddy' orange. If that makes sense.

i have one fish that at the lfs was labeled as ocellaris and looks like my other ocellaris's, but he has clearer orange eye's than the other ones.

Yeah I assume there can be some exceptions, that's why I said 'typically'

That's the problem with ID'ing them. Whether you are counting spines or rays or eye color, there is variation in some individuals. Percs tend to cost more
