How to join 2 pieces of 1/8 Cast Acrylic Together (Flat joint)

Hi, I'm having difficulty gluing together 2 sheets of 1/8" cast acrylic. When I use weld-on #3 with a syringe, even on 400 then 600grit sanded edges, they dont bond well. I was wondering if JBweld or weld-on 16 on the backside would be fine.

This is for colored acrylic, it doesnt need to be water tight. I essentially want a single piece of acrylic that has stripes of other colored acrylic running through it, then heat bending it 90*. Im just having difficulty gluing them together.

find the "acrylic fabrication question answered here" thread the new resident expert should be able to help you out.

I personally would try to router the edges clean and clamp them together and use #3. I think its gonna be hard though as the 1/8" is too flexible. You have to have a perfect straight matching . You may be able to use the 16 after initial bond to fill any gaps if there are any but then again im def no expert.

If you're sanding the edges you may be inadvertently rounding them, causing the joint to fail. I'd try either routed or sawn edges.
