How to make a spray bar to replace the AGA overflow nozzle

no. microbubbles has to do with bubbles in your sump being returned to the tank through your return pump. it has nothing to do with the spraybar.

Just added mine today. It took me 15 minutes to assemble. It took care of the dead spot I had in the back righthand corner of my tank. I drilled the 1/4" holes in a zig-zag pattern to get some water movement behind my rock structure.

Also want to say my thanks to you electric130. I installed one on my 46 and couldn't be happier. I finally have flow that goes down behind the rocks, and a nice gentle flow that my hammers and torches really appreciate. I also used the sand-in-the-pvc bending trick to make a nice u-tube.

Before finding this, I was ready to order the loc-line. Since I have an underground sprinkler system, I have tons of barb connectors and the poly pipe laying around, so it costs next to nothing.

I also upgraded my mag 7 plumbing to 3/4 all around, now the flow is too much for my overflow. I can live with that though.

electric, your work is awesome, my spray bar is close to completion, thanks for you attention to detail so those of us who are still learning can easily follow along, and have good success!
 
Here's a tip if you only have regular white or tan PVC. Use a Sanford king size permanent black marker to make the PCV black. Works great and it lasts. I run it through the dishwasher after to get rid of the chemical smell.

You can also just use purple primer and it turns purplish/pink, sort of like coralline algae.:)

no. i prime and cement mine. some people wait hours even days before running their tank's water through them. i usually don't even wait 5 minutes after i've cemented the last joint before starting the pumps back up. i've been doing it this way for years without problems.
