are you taking care of aptasia this way also?

Knock on wood, I haven't seen any in about 3 years.

I doubt if it would work for aptasia because they usually attach themselves near a hole in the rock and then duck out of sight at the first sign of danger.

Kalk paste works for aptasia....as an added measure I would drill them out of their hiding places with a power drill. As long as they can hide in the rock you will never kill them.

This is so cool!!! Just used in on some pesky cabbage leather- yuck. I had an AWESOME Marshall Island rock that I gave away for $2.00 a pound because it was overgrown with Xenia and I was tired of plucking it.... uggggh.... :-( man a day late and $100 short.....

"Think you can hide in there, do you, Aiptasia? Muwahahahahaha!" (drilling sounds drown out the maniacal laughter)

This is a great idea! I am going to try and add a powerhead to this idea to get a little mor suction. Going to try it on hair algae. Worst case at least I get all the ditris out!

ok, I've searched the garage high and low and can't find what I'm looking for. Off to the hardware store shortly. My vision is a length of that 1/2" CPVC pipe, on the business end a 1/2" CPVC union. Instead of taking apart a disposable razor, I see a double edge flexible razor blade- the old school kind. I think this should fit inside the union, and the lip inside the union should prevent the blade from slipping, or the need to glue the blade in place. Then, when blade is spent, it can be easily reversed, or disposed of. On the drain end I'm going to search for a reducer to attach hose directly to the length of pipe. If anyone patents it and gets rich, throw me a nod by calling it the Li'l Stinker.

We might need to add the 'this requires eye protection' clause, I just launched a double sided razor blade into orbit. The blade forms a 'C' when in the 1/2" coupling- not a full circle, and it is not a perfect fit, hence the flying razor...back to the shop...

What type of blade is that? It doesn't look like a regular blade. I need to get rid of some shrooms, and aptasia. This has been a great thread. I have Joes juice for Aps and it worked great on the first application, but I did not re-apply and they came back. Definitely need to figure out where you got the blade so I Edward Scissor Hands these shrooms.

That's what I needed last night, I was using a pair of scissors to cut them up, then I created a vortec powered mushroom guts storm.
