I put on a rubber glove(jus 2 make sure i didnt get stung) and jus poked at its base until it got irritaded and detached....i did it twice...once with a medium sized haddoni and the other with a huge RBTA i used to have....they both made it 2 their new homes very happy too
I take the rock out and chip at the rock underneath it then peel it off the rest of the way. I also heard putting a wet ice cube up against its foot makes it detach.
x2 on just cutting the rock under its foot. You would be suprised how easy it it. I just keep making calculated cuts on the rock and usually it just detaches at the end. BTA's are hardy. They survive being cut in half every 3 weeks. You don't have to be that gentle. I saw a video where a guy hung it upside down over a bucket outside the tank and it still lived just fine.
