How to remove velvet from quarantine

I have used CP several times on ich infected fish with good results; the fish are still being tracked in their new homes. However, I still won't put a fish treated with CP into my system. What happened to Alprazo? He was the leading proponent of CP. FWIW, this is basically the same conversation we had some time back about quinine sulfate.

How exactly does a method get to become "proven" anyway? I'm sure there's been research confirming copper's effectiveness. But how about with TT and hypo? In fact, I can show you research suggesting hypo isn't effective against all strains of Crypto - specifically Yambot's research from 2003.

Yes copper and tank transfer (search the marine biology papers) are "proven". Hypo has some issues: proper maintenance of the SG, and worse, strains that are insensitive to low salinity. I have a sticky where that is discussed above. I do advocate TT for crypto, and copper for velvet; I discuss but do not advocate hyposalinity for crypto.

But, of course, these are only my views and you are free to do whatever you think best.

Peer reviewed papers in the marine biology literature. While papers written by aquarists are "interesting", it is just not the same thing.

While it is perhaps a difficult read, review Steven Spotte's "Captive Saltwater Fishes" which has a ton of useful information.
