How to separate the magnetic holders???

This is probably a silly question, but I just got a couple of used tunzes and they came with the magnetic holders, but as you can imagine, they came snapped together. I tried to separate them but they are really strong, is there an easy way to do it??

And if you can tell me how should I install these really strong magnetic holders that would help !! I do not want to loose a finger installing them !!!

:lol:. Not silly at all. Its only silly when you got finger stuck in between. Here is what i suggest to do.

Instead of pull it straight out which i bet you already try and it is impossible to do so. What you can do is pull it sideway. Pull both pieces in different direction.

The same way when you install the magnet into your tank. If you let it snap together there is two things could happen...

1. Your tank may crack if the glass aren't strong enought

2. Your finger may get stuck in the middle because you affraid the magnet snapped too hard and break the tank.

To install the magnet, you will put the magnet inside your tank to where you want it to be then slide the other magnet to meet with the magnet you have in the tank.

sound like you have the 6200 magnet... Good luck and do not use screw driver to separate them...

Twisting the two halves is what tends to work best, if you pry them apart be careful and be sure someone is around to help incase they slam down on your fingers.

I can vouch for that I smacked a finger with a full size magnet. But the worst was I was not paying attention and the skin on the bottom of my index finger caught between the little "ears of two nanomagnets that basically locked flat together, and of course with no one else around, didnt think I was ever getting them apart.

This is what I did , I took two kitchen plastic spatulas and I slipped as best as I could one on each side , and then pulled them on different directions and it worked like a charm !!!

Kinda funny to shake hand with someone who has the nano magnet holder stuck on his finger

I threaded a leather belt through each magnet and prised them apart.

Ohh man this happened to me and holly toledo was i in some Pain. I am scared of the nano magnets now..lol. It was hard trying to pry them apart while stuck to a finger.

I found the best way to get them apart is to use a full size towel over them to twist them apart. If they smack together on your fingers you will have some cushion

When I do maintenance I use an old magazine between them when not in the tank, works well.
