How to tell the difference?

Hi all. Just wondering of there is a way to tell the difference between the different species of clams. I just picked up 2 from the LFS and forgot to ask what species they were. Thanks.

coloration, the shape of the shell, either its smooth or floted rough, The way i learnd was from lookin at pics till i could tell the difference, sometimes it's still dificult to tell the difference between a max and a coracia, I think there is hibreads out there also....

What is your lighting? Makes a big difference in what clams you can keep.

Thanks for the link. I have determined they are T. Max. Lighting is 150w DE and 2 75w VHO's on a 20L. I think thats sufficient.
