has anyone ever tries to tighten the bulkhead nut on a 100g rubbermaid water trough? it is too big for the channel locks and back too far for the pipe wrench. the slow drip is making me crazy.

thanks

Depending on the bulkheade, you need to use a faucet wrench or a spanner wrench...however heed this warning:

Bulkheads are not desgined to be tightened much past finger tight. On a tank you never use a wrench to install unless directed (Perfecto kits want you to go 1/4 turn past finger tight) or you can break the bulkhead and/or tank.

Are you sure the surface your mounting too is flat? Perhaps a uniseal might be more appropriate for how your trying to use it?

thanks for the quick reply. i use the term bulkhead loosely. it is a the through fitting that came with the trough. it has 1.25" fpt inside and a strange size outside. the "nut" is round with a flat spot on the top and bottom. i would guess the nut dia to be around 3".

When I got mine I had to change that out for a real Bulkhead as I never got It to stop leaking until I put a sch 80 bulkhead on It! Just my 2 cents
