How/what to make them morph?

Lets say they have been in my tank for 2 years. How would I get them to change colors? What steps?

where are they from? what is their light requirement? Are the usually found in a lagoon or deep? High or low flow in the wild? etc....
What polyp are you trying to morph and why? The zoanthus gigantus have the largest flux in morphing IMHO, next are a few species of high nutrient zoanthids from the Indo and the Solomon.
You are asking a very broad question that and say very little about your setup and what your are trying to morph?
Some things will never change color and will only get brighter or duller depending on your system. To change a complete color is rather difficult and takes some understanding/experience with the polyp istelf.
Maybe we could help if we knew where yours were from, and if you post a pic. Then we can try to help you get the best color and growth out of your particular polyp that you are having problems with. best of luck!

Nice, Thanks for asking/making me realize how much research I need to do. I am having no problems growing them. I just learned about morphing and wanted to mess around a bit. Is there some links that I can read and so on.
My growth rate i s pretty amazing. (I think anyway) 2 years ago I had just 20 Ring of fire. I now have over 2000. That is good right?
Ring of fire, Blow Pop. Both are from Solomon Island.

5 candy apple reds
5 candy apple greens
5 sour apples
5 mohawks
5 stardust pe's
5 true rpe's
5 purple deaths
5-8 polyps of tubs blue
2 Purple People Eaters
These I have not researched much but the PPe indonesia
I am not really looking for morph anything just get the colors to pop as well as I can.

Doh forgot the lights I have. 2 250 20k watt M/H on a 120 reef tank. I am going tonight to get a 75 gallon tank about 60 # of LR and so on to do a frag tank. I have 200 watts of PC and 2 400 watt 10k m/h That I can use that is laying arround. I am going to use a common sump to save time on test Kalk and so on.

*Water condition ( Dirty/Clean )
*Flow
*Nutrient bioload
*Level of lighting (PC/T5/MH/LED)
*Location of polyp to lighting
It also depends what kind of conditions the polyp was originally compared to where its going to now???
Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.. I've had some morph on me a lot and some just lighter/darker/specs/size

I do not need given names by some reefer-the origin of the species would help greatly. It might take some looking into but without it is useless.
Your tank looks incredible!!!! What exactly do you want to achieve with each polyp?? Again your tank looks awesome and so do the zoos-what do you want to try and accomplish? I cant see too much more help--do you skim?

Ya, I have a rather large skimmer with a mag 5 pump driving it. I cant dial it in the way I want. I have some work to do there. I just want each poylp to looks it best. Just like everything else I have no ideal about. I kinda jump in both feet first and learn all I can. Then start with the trial and error part next. The zoas grow from the top of my tank to under edges where they get almost no light. Not trying to be vage but I don't know what/how to say what you are asking for. I just like to read about new stuff. I have learned more about things I wanted to know if I just start learning about another aspect of it. Zoas, saltwater, and so on. Morphing sounds amazing and really gets into the mechanics of the zoa. So If I learn how to change the colors I will learn more on how to keep their colors.
So, treat me like I know nothing haha. Morphing for Dummies!!!

I do not know why you would mess with success?? I really cant help here as I do not what you want to accomplish other than color. Yours seem to have nice color but if you wanted to experiment then shut off the skimmer for 2 months, mess with lighting, feed a ton etc... It is still rather vague as what the origin of the polyps that you have. I see a few Indo polyps but I cant tell any further.
Maybe set up a few different small tanks, frag, and experiment with different scenarios with each polyp and find out for yourself. That is what I did for a few years.

I think I missed something, my friend, I'm just curious why would you want to dabble in changing coloration? IMHO, I wouldn't try this, just my 2 cents. I would focus on establishing, maintaining and improving the coloration you have more so than altering it to create something new. I stand corrected if I am completely off base with my comments. Just trying to get an understanding.

Well, If people did not expertiment and try to make things better we would still be living in a cave and getting water from the local river. I am just wanting to further understand what you call morphing. If people could morph a new zoa in just a few months. Wow, That would be amazing.

The way I look at it is the more I know the less I have to learn. I do not know much about morphing. So I am asking. Is there a thread on the DO and DON'T on morphing?
I have learned so far.
Turn skimmer off. I am guessing that I am pulling the good stuff zoas like out of the water.
Diffrent lights. I have seen this in my own tank. I would not call it morphing more like bleaching.
Feeding. No ideal what to feed. I just dose Iodine. They love it. My toad stool droops down that means it is time to dose more Iodine. By the end of the day he is perked up and looking happy. Same with my zoas. If I do not dose Idoine he shrinks for days and days. One time he almost died. I dosed Iodine he gets happy again. Funny.
I guess The way I understand it is Idoine is a building block in softies as much as Cal, Alk, Mag is in Stonys.
So I guess I am asking for a check list of ideals or thoughts. And I will sort throught them and let the mayham began.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with experimenting, I do it all the time.

I was merely making a point that it can be done but I would never advise it. Why? You never know what you will get and you could very well kill or adversely affect the polyp itself. Honestly, I was only saying that it is possible, yet I would never do it myself personally. My sincere apologies if I mislead you to think that there is some secret thing some do to change the color of a polyp. Even when we do everything right, there is always a chance the polyp won't look the same as it did prior to the purchase and no gurantees that there won't be a shift/change in coloration.
