Hey all, im just getting started in this hobby and wanted to speak up in the local forum....

Hi!.......I live in boulder and am so excited about this hobby its difficult to focus on my classes sometimes..

4 months in and loving it,


Would anyone recommend any particular store in the boulder-ish area? Ive been using exotic aquatics on arapahoe almost exclusively...
Also, are there any events / groups that meet in the boulder area?

check out aqua imports. i like them a lot better than exotics (which is another story altogether).
Boulder is great, you just have to like patchoulie (sp?)

ha whats so bad about boulder? well...mabye the air of elitism from the natives....but i here for CU and the mountains!

Ty for the tip, i have been using them for coral and exotics for fish as of now....

On a lighter note... i woke up to my clownfish finally hosting! huzzah!

i was born in Denver so i know that boulder is kind of a mecca for hippies, treehuggers and the like. Boulder has a huge population of higher educated people. i am not bagging on Boulder at all. anyone that knows me knows i fit there a bit. i am a bit of tree-hugger myself. i like it because it has a bit of a european flair to it. it is quirky though and a lot of "born in the heartland americans" think it is weird.

haha agreed. its funny, i love half the popuation, and hate the rest. Im also an enviro science major but i am NO hippie! i just love exploring and understanding the natural world, so i get mixed in with the bob marly fan club on occasion hehe....gotta clear things up at first oppertunity!

I stop into Exotic Aquatics every once in a while to see if things are any better. It's about time for me to drop by again. The saltwater section is usually pretty bad. Lots of anemones to sell to people with new tanks. :rolleye1:

I like boulder. I get along with the say "spoiled brats" there. Haha and well the amazing looking women as far as the eye can see =) tan skinny tall. mmmmmm.

Yup. Boulder rocks. I hate the people who decide they're going to walk across the street and think I won't hit them though. Goto a crosswalk.

Oh Im born and raised here and I remember when Boulder was the place to be but its REALLY changed over the years to much even for this Hippie. Lol
