How's the new scape?

I like 2.0 as long as its stable! also, you probably dont want to hear this at this point, but egg crate on the entire bottom is generally a bad idea. I believe it makes it harder for creatures to filter through it and causes more detritus buildup..

I siphon the guts out of my sand by Hand with a gravel vac.

Beautiful set up man, it looks great. Carib sea, I will remember that. Did you remove that one rock yet? I think the separation would complete it perfectly

I just removed that rock and the bigger one at the top of the pile on the right and moved some arch pieces around, what ya think?

i like v2 better.

just for kicks you might want to see how it looks if one of the two piles were distinctly larger/taller than the other. Use the rules of thirds for guidance.

Definitely like the 2 sections instead of one. Looking good,

One setup I tried with my old 45 was put rock walls on either end (as if they were shelves), and sloped them downward and left the middle open. It created a really cool effect but I could not clean the glass on either sides very well. I will try to find a picture on my phone and post it if your interested?

I could delete the rock at the top of the pile on the left. It just sits there.

that is way better than the other ones, it gives me some idea of how to aquascape my new tank, thanks, you didn't use anything to stick the rocks together I assume.

Please do!

Sorry for the delay, and its not the greatest pic. Only one I could find of my old tank. I think at this point I was already reducing the shelves and moving away from the glass because it was so hard to keep clean. But I hope you get my point.

I was a photography nerd when I was younger and stick with the rule of thirds for lots of things. I have a similar structure to this one. I like the look of some of the minimalistic towers but they dont provide much in the way of hiding spots for the fish.

Better shot with the blues off.

Version 2.5 is definitely the best. I would move the top right rock of the left island to the rear right corner of the the tank, so the structure on the right trails back as well as to the right. I think that might give it a touch more depth.

The last one looks really good. Natural looking not like it was constructed. It will look great with grown out coral.
